Song o' the day...

September 20, 2009 5 Comments

Lately, I’ve been getting into a groove where I can’t stop listening to this song.

Anyone know the original source of this sample? Do you know where I can find it on Vinyl? Is there an instrumental version? I want to add it to a mix, soon.

Hope you enjoy.

The instrumental is from the Metal Fingers (MF DOOM, King Geedorah, etc.) album Special Herbs, Vol. 2.

Found your site via the wax.fm twitter. And you’re welcome. =)

Oh, and the specific song in question is “Arrow Root”.

Tim, you just made my day! Thanks a lot! After your post, I found it quickly on youtube to enjoy (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=weFIJEn5lqY) — something to listen to until I get it on Wax.

I still can’t figure out what artist/song that the instrumental was sampled from. The piano and sax are crazy emotional! Google reveals nothing, but some people suggest Marvin Gaye’s “Cleo’s Apartment” but I’m not sure. I think the sax and the piano are from the same source. Time will tell.

Glad you dropped by – thanks for the tip!
